Our commitment to making a meaningful impact on the Jamaican education system begins with the Future Leaders Scholarship. This scholarship embodies our passion for fostering academic excellence and supporting the next generation of leaders. Each year, five exceptional upper sixth form students, excelling in business or science subjects, will be awarded $100,000 towards their first-year university tuition. The Healthy Woman Foundation Provides 5 High Schoolers with Scholarships
At The healthy Woman, we desire to open a whole new world of organic herbal teas and powders to our customers. We ensure that all our ingredients and products are of the highest quality to ensure that you are getting the most potent products for your issue. Despite our name we cater to both male and female as we believe that everyone should have the option to heal themselves.
The Healthy Woman Ja has proudly evolved with the creation of its charitable arm, the Healthy Woman Foundation, and we are excited to announce the identification of our first five awardees under the Future Leaders Scholarship. This initiative has been a long-time dream of mine, and it represents our commitment to giving back in meaningful and practical ways to the Jamaican education system. We will award a total of $500,000 to five outstanding high school students ($100,000 each) to support their first-year university tuition fees. The scholarship recipients, hailing from Ascot High, St Catherine High, Bridgeport High, and my alma mater, Spanish Town High, are upper sixth formers who have excelled in business or science subjects. They are Jaunel McFarlane, Danae Jones, and three other deserving students. All have received acceptance letters to prestigious institutions, including The Mico College University, the University of the West Indies, Mona, and the University of Technology.
Our Goals
"Being able to provide these scholarships is very important to me," said Nichelle Nembhard, CEO of The Healthy Woman Ja. I will be presenting the cheques to the students at their schools between June 10 and 13, 2024, and I look forward to speaking with the students about entrepreneurship. "Entrepreneurship helped me lift myself and my family out of poverty, and I want to help students gain the education they need to move forward and build successful careers." Growing up in Rivoli, Spanish Town, poverty prevented me from completing my university studies. It feels incredibly fulfilling to help ensure that this does not happen to others. My focus on high schools in St. Catherine is deliberate, as I want to support students from my own parish. Additionally, I aim to encourage more students to pursue careers in science, addressing a gap I see in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
Expressing appreciation for the scholarships, a principal/awardee from one of the schools noted, "This is a very welcome gift for our students. Given the financial challenges parents face today, this support is invaluable." Another principal echoed the sentiment: "We are grateful for Nichelle’s investment in one of our brightest students. This scholarship will greatly assist her in her studies and future endeavors." We are committed to making a positive impact and empowering the next generation of leaders.
